t was a close race down the stretch, but Martinsville’s Phil Cerreto (Longwood) edged Wilmington’s Adam Eggemeyer (SIU Edwardsville) with eight home runs with a wooden bat for 24 total points (3 points per home run). Eggemeyer finished one shy at seven home runs for 21 total points.
The 2008 CPL All-Star Home Run Derby champion Barrett Kleinknecht (Francis Marion) of Florence made a good showing with six home runs for 18 points, while Peninsula’s Jake McAloose (Old Dominion) also connected on six homers for 18 points.
