The Florence Red Wolves have announced the signing of University of Louisville first baseman/outfielder Mike Morrison and Mercyhurst College infielder Ethan Santora.   Santora, a 5 foot 10 right-handed hitting sophomore out of Gates Mills, Ohio, is off to a hot spring with Mercyhurst.  In five games, he's batting a team high .550 (11 for 20) with five doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI's.

In 2009, Santora batted .347 (61 for 176) with nine doubles, a team leadings 16 home runs and a team leading 54 RBI's.  The 16 home runs tied the Mercyhurst College single season record.  For 2009, Santora was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference freshman of the year, All-PSAC and Division II third team All-American.

"Ethan's ability to hit for average and power while maintaining outstanding plate discipline is very impressive", said Red Wolves' coach Russell Carter.  "He is a rare player that can drive a ball in the gap or out of the park and keep his strikeouts to a minimum."  "Ethan will help both at third base and second.  I am very excited to have him", said Coach Carter.

Morrison, a 5 foot 11 right handed hitting sophomore out of Fort Wayne, Ind., has not appeared in a game with Louisville this spring.  Prior to Louisville, Morrison spent two seasons at Gulf Coast Cmmunity College.  As a red shirt freshman in 2009, he hit .279 with 19 doubles, three home runs and 48 RBI's.
