Doyle Names All American
6/27/2010

Current Florence Red Wolves player and Wofford College designated hitter Mac Doyle has been named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-America second team. In addition, he earned All-Atlantic Region first team honors. He is only the second Wofford baseball player to earn All-America honors, joining Brandon Waring who earned first team honors in 2007.

Doyle, a sophomore from Conway, South Carolina, was second on the team with a .377 batting average and was the team leader with 16 home runs. His 75 RBIs led the team and set a new school single-season record. Among conference leaders, he was second in total bases, first in slugging percentage, second in doubles, first in triples, fourth in batting average, third in RBIs and fourth in home runs.

Among Southern Conference players, Doyle is one of only three players named All-American. Pitcher Asher Wojciechowski (The Citadel) and third baseman Matt Leeds (College of Charleston) earned third team All-America honors.

Doyle is also the third Wofford student-athlete to earn All-America honors this academic year, along with Nick Schuermann (men's soccer) and Noah Dahlman (men's basketball).
