Doyle's Walk Off HR Beats Wilmington

Mac Doyle’s three-run homer in the bottom of the 10th lifted the Florence RedWolves to a 15-13 win Wednesday over the Wilmington Sharks at American Legion Field.  The game was the second straight extra innings contest between the two teams. Wilmington won 5-4 over Florence in 13 innings Tuesday.

Florence led 12-9 going into the top of the eighth before Wilmington scored four runs to take a 13-12 lead.
The RedWolves answered in the bottom of the eighth inning when Trey Hernandez hit a solo homer.

In the top of the10th inning, Alex Hill’s RBI single put the Sharks up 13-12. Hill went 6-for-7 in the game and had six RBI.  But Herman Petzold led off the bottom of the 10th with a walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch. With one out, Ethan Santora walked and Doyle followed with a three-run walkoff blast off Zach Taylor.
Doyle finished the game with four RBI.   Santora led Florence with three hits and also added three RBI. Tyler Boyd also had two hits.
Hernandez picked up the win.
