RedWolves Add Three Arms from the Buccaneers

RedWolves Add Three Arms from the Buccaneers

The Florence RedWolves and first-year coach Cory Brownsten announce the signing of Charleston Southern's Seth Owens, Jamison Mobbs and Jamison Patterson for the summer.

Owens is a sophomore right-handed pitcher. He is a native of North Augusta and a graduate of North Augusta High School.

"Will plan to use Seth as much I can out of the pen," Brownsten said. "From his pitching coach saying he might lead the CPL in appearances for us, makes me know that he is a bulldog and wants to compete and do everything for the team to win."

Owens has appeared in 12 games this season for the Buccaneers with a 3.60 ERA and six strikeouts over 10 innings pitched.

"Seth is a submarine guy with a fastball and a slider, which will give right-handed hitters a tough time," Brownsten said. "Very excited to see what kind of kid and summer Seth will have. I love guys that compete everyday."

Mobbs is a junior right-handed pitcher. He is a native of Goose Creek and is a graduate of Stratford High School. Mobbs has appeared in 10 games this season for Charleston Southern with a 10.61 ERA and seven strikeouts over 9 1/3 innings pitched.

"Jamison will be a very good bullpen arm for us," Brownsten said. "He is a three-pitch pitcher in the upper 80s. He is a very tall athletic kid. He was a high school quarterback in Charleston. Excited to see him compete on the mound attacking hitters."

Patterson is a freshman left-handed pitcher in his redshirt season. He is a native of Belton and is a graduate of Belton Honea-Path High School.

"Very excited to let this one get out on the mound," Brownsten said. "The big 6'6 Lefty who has gotten nothing but better since he started at school. He has put on 20 lbs. since August. His top pitches are his fastball and change-up, he has a curveball and slider. His slider has gotten better and better and I feel like we will get it to an above average slider with the more mound time during the summer. He is a guy I see getting stronger as the summer goes on."
