The Florence RedWolves fall 7-5 to the Savannah Bananas on Friday night at Sparrow Stadium.

The RedWolves were down 3-0 in the bottom of first before scoring three times off a two-run single by Joe Simone (Rider) and a sac-fly by John Ricotta (Ball State) to tie the game.

The RedWolves scored twice to take the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Cole Dubet (St. Louis) singled home Will Morgan (Old Dominion), and then Chris Botsoe groundout to third, which allowed Bryson Smith (Texas) to score to take the 5-3 lead.

But the Bananas would answer with two in the sixth to tie the game off Colby Lee (Francis Marion) who took the no-decision after going 5.1 giving up five runs on five hits and striking out five.

Savannah would score once in the eight and the ninth off of Amos Willingham (Georgia Tech), who took the loss for Florence, to take the game 7-5.

The RedWolves (2-4) will travel to Macon on Saturday and Asheboro on Monday before returning home on Tuesday for a double header with Lexington County.

Tuesday, June 12, will be a free t-shirt giveaway night thanks to Tidal Wave Auto Spa. It will also be the debut of the specialty LocalMotive jersey.

Gates open at 5 pm and the first game starts at 6 pm.
