RedWolves shutout by Bacon

RedWolves shutout by Bacon

Jimmy Farmer

The Florence RedWolves could not solve the strong pitching by the Macon Bacon in the 4-0 loss on Saturday night at Luther Williams Field.

Dylan Spacke (Long Beach State) was the Bacon arm that held the RedWolves in check tossing 6.1 scoreless, one-hit baseball while striking out nine to earn the victory.

Griffin Hulecki (Ball State) and McLendon Sears (College of Charleston) were the only RedWolves to collect base hits on the evening.

All of Macon's offense came in the first four innings as the Bacon scored twice in the first, once in the second and another run in the fourth.

Joshua Plummer (Tennessee) took the loss for Florence after tossing 4.2 innings while giving up four runs on eight hits while striking out four.

The RedWolves (10-9) will stay overnight in Georgia before taking on the Savannah Bananas on Sunday night in Savannah.

Florence will return home on Tuesday to take on the Peninsula Pilots. Tuesday night will be KISS night at Sparrow Stadium. It will also be free t-shirt Tuesday as the first 300 fans get a free t-shirt.
