Patrick Causa to compete in 2018 CPL All Star Show Skills Challenge

Patrick Causa was chosen to represent the Florence RedWolves in the 2018 CPL All Star Show Hitting Challenge.

New to the 2018 CPL All Star Show, the Hitting Challenge will test the precision and accuracy of hitters in the Coastal Plain League.

There will be three hitters representing the American and National League Teams. They will then aim for four different targets that will be set out in the field that will be worth either one or two points apiece. After five practice swings, the contestant will get 10 swings off a tee and try to hit the targets and accumulate as many points as possible. The representative from both the American and National League with the most points will compete against each other, with the winner being named the 2018 CPL All Star Show Hitting Challenge Champion.

Causa certainly has the stats to back up his naming to the All Star Team and Hitting Challenge. Causa leads the RedWolves and is third in the CPL in batting average, hitting .380 so far this season. He is also second in the CPL in On Base Percentage at .477 and sixth in Slugging Percentage at .522.

Causa is joined by Kris Kuhn, Michael Kuypers and Joe Simone as the Florence representatives on the 2018 CPL National League All Star Team.
