Sharks bite RedWolves in sloppy loss

The Florence RedWolves fall 10-7 to the Wilmington Sharks in a game that featured 21 combined walks and eight errors on Monday night at Sparrow Stadium.

Florence found themselves down 1-0 early, but all that changed in the bottom of the second when the RedWolves scored six runs in the inning.

The big inning was highlighted by RBI walks by Joe Simone (Rider) and Brock Hallum (LIU-Brooklyn), an RBI single by Chris Botsoe (Eastern Kentucky); a sac-fly by Griffin Hulecki (Ball State).

But the game would quickly change as the Sharks would strike for nine runs over the final five innings to get the 10-7 win.

Joshua Plummer (Tennessee) would get the start and take a no-decision firing 4.2 innings allowing four runs on five hits and striking out three.

Austin Moody (Francis Marion) would take the loss in relief going 3 innings allowing four runs on five hits while striking out two.

The RedWolves (17-17) will hit the road for three of the next four days starting with the Lexington County Blowfish on Tuesday night in Lexington.
