The Florence RedWolves fell 14-13 to the Macon Bacon on Friday night at Luther Williams Field.

The RedWolves found themselves down 11-4 entering the top of the eighth inning, but that is when the offense came alive.

The RedWolves scored recorded six straight hits that lead to five straight runs to open the inning. This no out, scoring outburst was highlighted by Bryson Smith's (Texas) two run single and was capped by Griffin Hulecki's (Ball State) two run triple.

Greg Vaughn Jr. (LIU-Brooklyn) would have an RBI double later in the inning before scoring the game tying run on Chris Botsoe's (Eastern Kentucky) RBI single to cap the comeback and the seven-run inning.

The game would stay tied until the top of the 10th when Vaughn singled home Joe Simone (Rider) and Hulecki to give the RedWolves the 13-11 lead.

But Andres Perez would not let the Bacon fall at home, as the Macon catcher hit a three-run walk off home run to give Macon the 14-13 victory.

Amos Willingham (Georgia Tech) took the loss in relief.

The RedWolves (17-20) will return home on Saturday to face the Wilmington Sharks.

Saturday's game will be Cancer Awareness Night at Sparrow Stadium. The RedWolves will be wearing specialty pink jerseys that will be auctioned off with 100% of the proceeds going toward the local American Cancer Society.

Gates open at 6 pm with first pitch scheduled for 7 pm.
