The Florence RedWolves fall to the Fayetteville SwampDogs 8-2 on Friday night at The Swamp.
The SwampDogs grabbed an early 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning.
But the RedWolves would answer back in the top of the seventh when Bryson Smith (Texas) singled home Greg Vaughn Jr (LIU-Brooklyn) and Kyle Gensler (Charlotte) reached on an error that allowed Smith to score to cut the lead to 3-2.
But the SwampDogs would answer in a big way by scoring five times in the bottom of the eighth to go on and win 8-2.
Jamison Patterson (Charleston Southern) got the start and took the loss tossing 3.1 innings allowing three runs on two hits while striking out three.
The RedWolves (19-24) will return home on Saturday to take on the Macon Bacon at Sparrow Stadium.
Saturday night will be Ginger appreciation night.
Gates open at 6 pm with first pitch scheduled for 7 pm.
