RedWolves blank SwampDogs

The Florence RedWolves used strong pitching to shutout the Fayetteville SwampDogs 3-0 on Monday night at Sparrow Stadium.

McLendon Sears (College of Charleston) provided the RedWolves with early offense as he doubled home Ben Peden (The Citadel) and Greg Vaughn Jr. (LIU-Brooklyn) in the bottom of the first inning to give the RedWolves the 2-0 lead.

That is all the offense Kris Kuhn (College of Charleston) would need as he would toss 7 shutout innings allowing just seven hits and striking out six.

Florence's offense would add one more insurance run in the bottom of the sixth when Brock Hallum (LIU-Brooklyn) would single home Bryson Smith (Texas) to make it 3-0 RedWolves.

Jacob Grenus (Lincoln Memorial) would pick up the hold tossing one inning of scoreless relief.

And Mark Leonard (Tennessee Tech), would pick up the save tossing a scoreless ninth striking out two.

The RedWolves (20-24) will hit the road for two in Lexington County on Tuesday against the Blowfish.
