After falling 5-3 to complete the end of last week's fog postponed double header in Florence, the RedWolves bounced back in a big way defeating the Lexington County Blowfish 10-2 in seven innings on Tuesday night at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
Florence's offense exploded out of the gate scoring two in the first two innings when Griffin Hulecki (Ball State) scored on a Blowfish throwing error in the first, and McLendon Sears (College of Charleston) scored on double play in the second inning.
After the Blowfish got one back in the bottom of the second, Greg Vaughn Jr (LIU-Brooklyn) would drive in Joe Simone (Rider) to make it 3-1 before Chris Botsoe (Eastern Kentucky) hit a sacrifice fly that would bring home Hulecki to make it 4-1 RedWolves.
Florence would tack on two more runs in the fourth inning on Cody Cline's (Mars Hill) solo home run and Hulecki's RBI double.
The RedWolves offense would put the game out of reach in the sixth inning by scoring three times highlighted by Vaughn Jr's RBI double and Brody Gibson's (Oral Roberts) RBI single.
Hulecki would double home Cline in the top of the seventh to end the RedWolves scoring for the night, and cap the impressive 5 for 5 with two RBI performance by Hulecki.
Johnathan Hughes (Georgia Tech) would be the beneficiary of the offensive outburst tonight on his way to a win after tossing 7 innings allowing two runs on six hits while striking out six.
The RedWolves (21-25) will have Wednesday off before heading to Macon on Thursday for a very important double header with the Bacon.
Florence will enter that double header just a game and a half back of Macon for the final playoff spot in the CPL South division.
