The Florence RedWolves fall to the Savannah Bananas 9-0 on Thursday night at Sparrow Stadium.
The Savannah Bananas (15-8) jumped out to an early lead with five unearned runs in the first inning to take a lead they wouldn't relinquish. Bananas would add two in the fifth and two in the eighth.
The RedWolves (10-14) would get Eldrige Figueroa (Arkansas Little Rock) would lead the game off with a single and would work his way to third but was stranded there. That was the last time until the ninth that a RedWolves runner would advance past first.
Ryan Kennedy (Kennesaw State) would shut down the Florence offense in his start for Savannah tossing six innings allowing just three hits while striking out nine to pick up the victory.
Andrew Coker (Clemson) got the start for the RedWolves and the tough luck loss tossing seven innings allowing seven runs (two earned) on eight hits while striking out four.
Figueroa lead the RedWolves offense with two hits while the only other hit came off the bat of Lex Tuten (North Greenville).
The RedWolves will hit the road on Friday for another meeting with the Bananas before returning home on Saturday to take on the Macon Bacon.
Saturday will be Super Hero Night.
Gates open at 6 pm with first pitch at 7 pm.
