The Florence RedWolves fell to the Savannah Bananas 5-4 on Friday night at Grayson Stadium.
The Bananas (16-8) took the early lead with a run in the first.
The RedWolves (10-15) would answer in the second. Reid Hardwick (Charleston Southern) singled home Austin Ulick (Southern Illinois) to tie the game. Hardwick and JT Weber (Southern Illinois) would come around to score on the Jon Mitchell Carter (Coastal Carolina) triple. Carter would score on an error to make it 4-1 Florence.
Savannah would answer with one run in the second.
The game would stay 4-2 in favor of Florence until the Bananas would plate a run in the seventh and then two in the ninth to walk off with the 5-4 win.
Connor Holden (Murry State) took the loss in his first blown save of the summer.
Rashard Coleman (Florence Darlington Tech) got the start and the no-decision tossing 4.2 innings allowing two runs on three hits while striking out two.
Weber led the Florence offense with two hits.
The RedWolves will return home on Saturday to take on the Macon Bacon.
Saturday will be Super Hero night, come dressed as your favorite superhero with CAPES for Kids and the CARE House.
Gates open at 6 pm with first pitch at 7 pm.
