The Florence RedWolves fell to the Macon Bacon 10-5 on Saturday night at Sparrow Stadium.
The RedWolves (10-16) took the lead in the bottom of the first when Eldrige Figueroa (Arkansas Little Rock) scored on an error.
The game would stay 1-0 until the top of the sixth when Macon (16-9) plated two to make it 2-1.
Florence would answer in the bottom of the sixth when Mitch Barrow (Indiana State) homered to tie the game at 2-2. The scoring would continue when Zach Durfee (Siena) scored on a Joe Weisenseel (Ohio) single to make it 3-2. Weisenseel and Jon Mitchell Carter (Coastal Carolina) would score on a Figueroa single to make it 5-2.
But the Bacon would answer by striking for eight runs over the final three innings including a four spot in the ninth to win 10-5.
Nathan Bock (Southeast Missouri State) took the loss in relief for the RedWolves.
Culver Hughes (West Chester) got the start and went 5 plus innings allowing two runs (both unearned) on five hits while striking out two.
Figueroa led the Florence offense going 3-for-5 with two RBI.
The RedWolves will hit the road on Sunday to take on Holly Springs before returning home on Monday to take on the Savannah Bananas.
Monday is game show night with gates opening at 6 pm and first pitch at 7 pm.
