The RedWolves spilt the double header with the Savannah Bananas losing 11-3 in game one and winning game two on a walk off 7-6 on Monday night at Sparrow Stadium.
The RedWolves after falling 11-3 in game one of in a continuation of July 5 game down in Savannah came out quick in game two scoring three in the bottom of the first. Brandon McIlwain sac fly to score Eldrige Figueroa (Arkansas Little Rock) to start the scoring, then Joe Weisenseel (Ohio) scored on a Grey Epps (Southern Illinois) single before Lex Tuten (North Greenville) reached on an error that allowed JT Weber (Southern Illinois) to end the big inning.
Savannah would answer back with two in the second to make it 3-2 Florence.
Florence would respond with a run in the bottom of the third when Weber scored after Epps reached on a drop third strike to make it 4-2.
The Bananas would take the lead with four in the top of the fifth.
But then Florence would start to battle back when Epps singled home Weber in the bottom half of the fifth to trim the deficit down to 6-5.
Then in the bottom of the seventh, Kenny Piper (Columbia College) would work a bases loaded walk to tie the game at 6-6 followed by a walk off single by Figueroa to win the game for the RedWolves.
Duncan Callahan (North Greenville) got the win in relief after tossing 2.1 innings allowing just one hit and striking out four.
The RedWolves and Bananas will face off again on Tuesday night down in Savannah. Florence will stay on the road and face Fayetteville on Wednesday.
The RedWolves will return home on Thursday for thirsty Thursday against the Lexington County Blowfish.
Gates open at 6 pm on Thursday with first pitch at 7 pm.
