The RedWolves fall to the High Point-Thomasville HiToms 13-3 on Saturday night at Sparrow Stadium.
The HiToms took the lead with two in the first inning and one in the second inning.
The RedWolves responded both times. Eldrige Figueroa (Arkansas Little Rock) scored on a double by Kenny Piper (Columbia College) to cut the lead down to 2-1 in first. In the second inning, Piper singled home Nathan Medrano (St. Edwards) to cut the lead down to 3-2.
The RedWolves would finally tie the game in the bottom of the fourth when Grey Epps (Southern Illinois) singled home Medrano.
The game would stay tied until the top of the ninth when the HiToms batted 15 men and scored 10 times.
Connor Holden (Murry State) took the loss for Florence.
Isaac Rodgers (Francis Marion) got the start and went four innings allowing three runs on four hits while striking out four.
The RedWolves will have Sunday off before hitting the road on Monday for a double header in Lexington County.
Florence won't return to Sparrow Stadium until Thursday July 25, 2019 to take on the Macon Bacon in a double header.
It will be Christmas in July night with gates opening at 5 pm and first pitch of game one at 6 pm.
