The Florence RedWolves lost to Savannah Bananas 11-2 on Monday night at Sparrow Stadium.
The Bananas (13-6) took the lead with a five run fourth and added on with two in the fifth.
The RedWolves (11-11) scored twice in the sixth when Kenny Piper (Columbia College) scored on a sac fly by Lenny Gonzales (Francis Marion) followed by Brandon McIlwain (California) scoring on Zach Durfee (Siena) groundout to cut the lead down to 7-2.
Savannah would add on with one in the eighth and three in the ninth.
Rashard Coleman (FDTC) got the start and the no-decision tossing 3 scoreless innings allowing one hit and striking out two.
Ryan Huffman (VMI) took the loss allowing five runs (one earned) over an inning.
The RedWolves will have Tuesday off before heading to Wilmington on Wednesday to take on the Sharks. Florence and Wilmington will meet up again at Sparrow Stadium on Thursday.
Thursday will be Darlington Raceway night, team photo giveaway and thirsty Thursday.
Gates will open at 6 pm with first pitch at 7 pm.
