The Florence RedWolves lost 8-4 to the Wilmington Sharks on Wednesday night at The Shark Tank.
The RedWolves took the early lead when Kenny Piper (Columbia College) homered in the top of the first to make it 1-0 Florence.
Wilmington would answer with one in the second and two in the third.
But the RedWolves would tie the game when Darius Noble (Francis Marion) hit a two-run homer in the top of the fourth.
The Sharks would answer back again with three in the bottom half to take the 6-3 win.
Florence would try to start a comeback when Mitch Barrow (Indiana State) homered in the sixth, but Wilmington would add one in the bottom of the sixth and one in the eighth to pull away.
Zach Stephenson (Northern Oklahoma) got the start and the loss.
Noble and Piper each had two hits in the loss.
The RedWolves and Sharks will meet again Thursday night at Sparrow Stadium.
It will be Darlington Raceway night and thirsty Thursday.
Gates open at 6 pm with first pitch at 7 pm.
